Major General Heinrich von Rabe

Commander of the Light Cavalry of Pappenheim, Major General von Rabe seen here with his favourite Lupinian hunting hounds and Major Prinz Kurt von Pappenheim.  Major General Heinrich is the brother of Major General Leopold von Rabe who commands a column of the Dukes Infantry.

The General's column consists of the Comte von Tilly Chevauxleger's and Graf von Munchausen's Hussars & the von Wehrwolf Hussars.  The new Hussar regiments are shaping up well and have a very capable group of officers.

von Lipicanac's Skanderberg Uhlans

Raised by Colonel Janos von Lipicanacan Officer of Hinterland origin from the hardy borderer's of Skanderberg and brought into the service of the Duke of Pappenheim the Skanderberg Uhlans have recently arrived within Pappenheim.

The Skanderberg Uhlans have been placed under the command of Major General Fuchsbau with the Pappenheim Jagers and these two units have quickly become a cohesive force.  The wild Skanderburgers seem to appreciate the sharpshooting skills of the Jager, and the Jager certainly apprecite having some mounted support for their scouting duties

von Eisenlowe Grenadiers

The Eisenlowe Grenadiers are Pappenheims second Grenadier brigade and have formed after the Dukes recent military expansions.  The brigade forms part of Major General Franz von Teufel's column and are sure to be at the forefront of any future battles.

Commanded by Colonel Johannes von Eisenlowe the brigade includes troops from the von Albtruam Musketeers (blue facings), the Kurfustin Musketeers (white facings), von Teufel's Fusiliers (red facings) and the Pz Johan von Schnauzer Fusliers (orange facings).
Colonel von Eisenlowe came into the Duke's service from the Electorate of Enteburg where he had been a major with the King Arouet Grenadier Regiment.  He saw service in the Italican campaign against the kingdom of Alba and then fought against the forces of the King of Polonia at the battle of Zollmen..

von Wehrwolf Hussar's

Image

Major General Amadeus von Wehrwolf raised this the second of Pappenheim's Hussar regiments he was given this honour for his valourous conduct in the late war particularly at the battle of Grosser Feurbach.  During the war it was identified that Major General von Wehrwolf was one of the greatest cavalry commanders of the war fighting three battles always at the forefront of his troops he is certainly one of the luckiest having survived against the Vandenburg-Brussian army.

Initially formed from mostly Polonian recruits it was decided to change to mostly Pappenheimer's as the Duke felt it gave the army a more national feel.  Given the rapid increase within the rest of the army this slowed down the availability of qualified recruits and has resulted in the regiment only recently reaching full strength.
The regiment itself is commanded in the field by the Major General's eldest son Lieutenant Colonel Ludwig von Wehrwolf, here he can be seen with his favourite hound Bärli.

Bärli has become the regiments mascot, and follows his master in training and upon parade.  He is welcome at the fires of the troopers of the regiment and appears
Recent field operations have shown this corps is the match of their sister regiment the von Munchausen Hussars and the officers from both regiments maintain a friendly rivalry between them.   Both regiments however look down upon the Comte Tilly Chevauxleger  regarding them as lesser cousin to the true "Light Cavalry".

von Munchausen's Hussar's

Image

Freiherr Hieronymus Carl Friedrich von Munchausen, after serving with the King of Vandenburg was lured back into Imperial service by the Duke of Pappenheim.  His experience with the Vandenburg Hussars gave him great insight into the use of light cavalry on the battlefield and also in the Kleiner Krieg.

His was the first of two 10 squadron regiments raised for service with Pappenheim army which emulate King Oskar's vaunted Hussar's.
The Freiherr was one of King Oskar's more eccentric officer's, he had served with the forces of his home Munchausen, Katerheim and the United Provinces before joining the army of Vandenburg Brussia.
It was during his time as a Hauptmann with the United provinces that he developed his intense dislike of windmills.  He also gained the services of his long suffering batman/manservant Miguel de Saavedra once a soldier with the Kingdom of Alba he has followed his master across Pangaea loyally keeping the enthusiastic baron.

von Fuchsbau's Pappenheim Jager

Raised following the experiences of the recent war von Fuchsbau's brigade was almost never formed, Major General von Fuchsbau was captured whilst forming his brigade by the Vandenburg forces of General Kieth.  The good general von Kieth paroled the officers and then under order from King Oskar enlisted the entire brigade into the Vandenburg infantry.

After the peace treaty between the Emperor & King Oskar the General set about rebuilding his brigade from the hardy forest folk & gamekeepers of Pappenheim.

von Albtruam's Musketeers

Image

Major General Alberecht von Albtraum raised the first regiment in the recent expansion of Pappenheim's forces, these forces have been raised due to the expansionistic policies of the Duke's neighbour the Elector of Vandenburg, King of Brussia Oskar the Great.

Commanded in the field by the Major General's son Lieutenant Colonel Karl Ernst von Albtraum, the regiment is yet to face the enemy in combat though he has been drilling the regiment extensively using
Vandenburg training methods.

How effective this training will be on the Dukes subjects remains to be seen, though reports from the regiment are encouraging.  These reports are being closely followed by Erbprinz Rupert who has fought against King Oskar twice and escaped to tell the tale.

Due to the rapid and large increase of Pappenheim's military the regiment contains large numbers of foreigners from across the north of Imperial Pangaea, Huhnerlanders, Straslunders and Dachsdorfer's make up a significant part of the regiments manpower.

Even some Dal Riadan's have made their way to the regiment, of note is Hauptmann Colin McQuack commander of the third Company who served with the Bonnie Prince in his disaterous campaign to regain the Dal Riadan throne.
